Mission Statement
Heart of a Border Collie Rescue, Inc is a 501c3 non-profit with foster homes throughout the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota area, and is dedicated to the rehoming of border collies and border collie mixes in need, furnishing temporary housing in approved foster homes, providing proper medical care, training, and rehabilitation of our dogs, and education of prospective homes.
About This Cause
All members of HOABCR are volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for their efforts. All of our dogs live in foster homes until a suitable 'forever home'can be found. All adoption candidates have been screened by a veterinarian, including but not limited to: • temperament check • health check • spayed/neutered • test for parasites • test for heartworms (treated if necessary) • current on all shots • microchipped All adopters are screened with reference and vet calls followed by a home visit. Every effort is made to make the best match for both the dog and the family. We remain available to support the adoptive family with advice, and are ready to take back the dog should the family no longer be able to care for it.
