Mission Statement
Rebel Playhouse is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational theater company that produces productions for children and families based on stories that break traditions and challenge normative thinking, and offers classes designed to foster creative development. By rebelling against established stories, we ignite children's imaginations so they can learn to create their own stories by thinking outside of the box and uphold our mission to Empower, Educate, and Entertain our audiences.
About This Cause
Rebel Playhouse has produced shows in NYC, Chicago, Kansas, and more. Their New York premiere of the musical "Old Turtle and the Broken Truth" was nominated for two New York Innovative Theatre Awards. Their world premiere of "Edna the Stomper" was the Top Seller of the 2017 Chicago Kids Fringe Festival. Their work has been seen in NYC at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre, Access Theater, The Tank, and the 14th St. Y Theater. In addition to shows, Rebel Playhouse classes have been offered around NYC at Basis Independent Schools, The Tank, Brooklyn Free School, Sanctuary for Families, and more.
