Mission Statement
We are a cat sanctuary dedicated for feral cats. The cats we accept in are truly feral cats that have been live trapped in dangerous areas or areas where there is no adequate shelter or food leaving them to struggle to survive, especially during the brutal Minnesota winters. All cats are spayed/neutered/vaccinated and examined by a licensed veterinarian upon intake. We only euthanize cats who are suffering from an incurable illness/injury.
About This Cause
Our organization started out in December, 2016 in a garage with the vision to help be a safe landing place for cats who were deemed "not adoptable" for behavior reason such as inappropriate elimination or being extremely skittish. The majority of our cats came from other rescues within the state of Minnesota. It didn't take us long to realize there were hundreds of homeless/stray feral cats suffering outside in the brutal elements and we made the decision to change our mission to feral cats only. We were able to save up and build a brand new building exclusively for the care of cats by various fundraising and with amazing donators and we moved into the new Sanctuary in June, 2022. Our new building features over 3500 sq ft of play/sleep areas, with beds, ledges and trees, to an outdoor "Catio" where they can relax on ledges and beds in the sunshine. We added another large fully enclosed outside area (the playground) where our cats can go outside and play and feel like they are truly outside, similar to the old lives they had. Only now, they don't have a worry in the world! Because we are caring for so many feral cats, we have realized we cannot be the answer to all homeless cats in the state of MN. We now offer a low cost solution to help curb the overpopulation of cats. Our Dr. Beverly Stephenson low cost spay/neuter program will continue our mission to help stop the breeding of cats. We provide education on how to take care of a stray/feral cat after the cat has been neutered and vaccinated. Exciting update! We have decided to add a clinic on site so that our cats have access to veterinary care on site and faster than having to book appointments at local vet clinics. We also plan on holding our spay/neuter program on site as well. Look for updates as we work to get this accomplished in 2025! Our motto is "if you feed, you breed.... suffering" so we are really trying to make an impact on the lives of feral cats. Our organization is made up over 50 regular, dedicated cat loving volunteers who take pride in the cleanliness and care of these formerly unwanted cats. We make every effort to adopt our cats out when we feel they are ready for their own forever family. We recognize that the majority of these cats may not learn to truly trust humans and that is okay with us. That is why we are a Sanctuary. They will forever be home and safe with us.
