Mission Statement
To promote young women in STEM academics and careers by offering resources, education and hands on experience primarily, although not exclusively, for minority and low-income girls.
About This Cause
Through offering after school programming, we are striving to increase passion in more females, especially girls from low-income and minority populations, in STEM education and careers. We serve girls in kindergarten through the 12th grade. Our grade school program, Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science (GEMS) is for girls K-5 and we focus on fun, hands-on STEM activities and experiments. Our middle school program, GSAS, Girls Serious About Science, dives deeper into STEM exploration, as well as strives to empower these girls by building confidence in working in STEM, as well as confidence in themselves. Our high school program, STEM Femmes, works on a continuation of development of passion for STEM education and careers, as well as empowerment and philanthropy. Our STEM Femmes attend our GEMS and GSAS classes; either facilitating or teaching each class.
