PAVILION CLUBHOUSE OF ROUND ROCK

ROUND ROCK, Texas, 78681-1569 United States

Mission Statement

The Pavilion Clubhouse of Round Rock’s purpose is to help persons living with mental health issues and/or substance abuse get the things they need to live a productive, independent life – specifically, gain employment, find decent housing, and get the resources they need based upon the model found at ICCD.org. Pavilion will provide a supportive environment for persons living with mental illness and/or substance abuse to work towards their employment goals, socialize, and work on their recovery from mental illness and/or substance abuse. We will provide peer support and professional staff to aid in their efforts. Dependency to Independence, Isolation to Friendship, Unemployment to Work, Illness to Recovery.

About This Cause

Our Story The employment rate among those seeking to RECOVER from the effects of mental illness and/or substance abuse generally runs between 10-40 percent. Research over the last 30 years shows that we are able to increase that employment rate to 75-80 percent with the right tools. Our founder, a former Presbyterian pastor and a mental health professional, has helped hundreds of people move from disability to a satisfying, productive life while working once again in the community. How do we do it? We employ the clubhouse model (ICCD.org) which has proven effective for 70 years in over 30 countries in helping people living with mental illness reintegrate into the community. We rely heavily on the work of peer specialists which has proven effective in helping those living with substance abuse and mental illness recover and reintegrate. We operate under the Supported Employment (SE) model, detailed by our founder in a manual written for the state of Texas. We also recognize the role that our faith plays in recovery and work hard at integrating our hope and our churches in the work we do. What’s the benefit? For the people we serve, it is a better quality of life, a way out of the isolation and the damage left by mental illness and/or substance abuse. It is also a chance to move out of the poverty that often comes with disability. For the community we serve it is a number of things. Reduced hospitalizations, reduced incarcerations, reduced need for housing support, food stamps, disability benefits, etc., more isolated citizens re-engaging in the community, a stronger, healthier workforce. Everyone wins.
