About This Cause
The African American Association of USA is a nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, GA dedicated to creating sustainable change within the community. For the last 21 years, AAAUSA has been tackling hunger and food insecurities for Atlanta's disadvantaged youth and their families. It's time for us to do more. Providing families with their basic needs is the beginning of a greater mission, SELF-SUSTAINABILITY. AAAUSA Values: The AAAUSA strives to empower, enrich and connect our Families, Contributors, & Communities by building a coalition network with key stakeholders, sponsors, donors and those we serve. • Family – Providing the vehicle to yield talented, educated and wellrounded individuals dedicated to the development of generations to come by providing the required support to build a “home”. • Contributors – Secure the adequate funding to provide necessary, healthy and sustainable services to reinforce the local infrastructure for our communities. • Community – Creating positive environments conducive to the growth of the communities, in which we live and work. AAAUSA Services: The areas listed below are vehicles by which the association is able to steer and effectively achieve our mission: ● Food bank (service on average 1100 families/month) ● Books For You (provision of books and other literacy tools for children & adults) ● Mobile “Feed The” community (68 each year) [Food, Hygiene, other essentials] ● Back to school (backpacks, “backsacks” and school supplies) ● Mentoring/Athletics for children ● School Toy Drop (over 500)
