Mission Statement
Xcelerate helps women business owners overcome systemic inequities to grow their businesses and build economic power now. By providing access to gender and culturally competent resources such as business advising, peer mentorship, and growth education, we help women business owners increase their self-efficacy and overcome internal and external barriers to personal and business growth. Through Xcelerate, women owners connect and contribute to a vibrant and growing community that’s changing the face of success in business to be more inclusive, authentic, and sustainable.
About This Cause
Xcelerate is a transformative community that supports Oregon’s women and gender expansive business owners on their journeys to success. We envision a world in which women have full and equitable access to business ownership as a means to create economic power, build generational wealth, and positively impact their communities. Our programs are designed to shift social and cultural norms to value the way women show up in business, leading to an economic system in which women are amplified and gain greater access to resources, skills development, and social capital. With each woman owner we support, we create the pathway to future thriving economies and vibrant communities for generations to come. Xcelerate was founded in 2017 by women, for women. Since then, we’ve helped more than one thousand historically marginalized business owners step into their confidence as leaders. Our clients employ nearly 600 Oregonians and lead businesses in multiple industries and sectors across the state, including consumer goods, food & beverage, professional services, software and technology, retail, and makers and manufacturing. Our programs address a wide range of needs, from common to complex, and build the capacity of women business owners to run, scale, and grow successful and profitable businesses. - Business Advising tackles internal and external barriers through One-on-One Coaching, Legal Guidance, and Mental Wellness Support. - Peer Mentor Groups are a facilitated space for owners to share struggles and successes, collaborate and ideate, set goals and hold each other accountable in community. - Educational Workshops build meaningful skills in topics like strategy, leadership, financial management, sales & marketing, and operations. All of our direct services are delivered by paid professionals with industry expertise and lived entrepreneurial experience. We are proud members of Prosper Portland’s Inclusive Business Resource Network (IBRN) and Business Oregon’s Technical Assistance Program (TAP) communities of practice.
