About This Cause
Autism Inspired Academy is an education-based nonprofit that applies character education and social-skill development as the foundation of student growth. AIA exists to build self-confidence, self-awareness, and social abilities while exposing students to a developmentally appropriate academic program. We foster, nurture, and inspire students to share their abilities and strengths and utilize those strengths to propel them to the next level of learning. Our philosophy begins with the idea that all children can learn, and our experience informs us that children with Autism perform best when given a sensory-sensitive environment that integrates social skills and behavioral strategies into every aspect of school. Beginning with students’ strengths allows Autism Inspired Academy to create and embrace positive relationships with students, families, communities, and therapeutic persons to help ensure success for all students. AIA leads the way in what school environments should look like to ensure success for all students on the Autism Spectrum. Who Do We Serve? AIA serves children in grades K-12 on the Autism Spectrum and may or may not have related disabilities such as anxiety, OCD, ADHD, language impairments, and/or sensory processing disorder. Our goal is to serve students that will benefit from social and character development programs embedded in appropriate academics, regardless of their ability to pay. At AIA, 98% of our students are partially funded through the Florida Empowerment Scholarship Program.
