About This Cause
The nonprofit was created to empower & educate those diagnosed with any type of cancer. This is the story of Lori Ball - Founder of Faith & Gratitude. In August of 2015, I was living a peaceful, blessed life with my husband, Dave, and our son, Joshua. Josh was entering his senior year of high school, and I had recently started a new job, looking forward to a career change as our son prepared for college. But soon after, the job became a source of overwhelming stress, and my health began to deteriorate. What I thought were simple physical symptoms—persistent back pain and frequent bathroom visits—soon led me to a shocking realization. After some research and a visit to my gynecologist, I learned I had ovarian cancer. In December 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage 1a ovarian cancer, which was later re-staged to 2b after my surgery. In the face of this life-altering diagnosis, I quickly realized the importance of not only traditional medical care but also holistic, complementary therapies to support my healing. While my doctors were amazing, I found that the holistic support I needed—nutrition, supplements, meditation, and physical therapies—was not readily available through traditional cancer centers. I had to seek these resources on my own through friends, family, and independent research. With the help of my loved ones, I embraced a combination of clean eating, supplements, and PEMF therapy during my 18 weeks of chemotherapy. Each treatment was a reminder of how important it was to stay organized, educated, and inspired in order to remain strong. Through this journey, I found strength in God's love, the support of my husband, and my own determination. On July 19, 2016, I proudly rang the bell after my last treatment, marking the end of my battle. My cancer journey left me deeply empowered and determined to make a difference in the lives of others facing similar challenges. I realized there was a significant need for a charity that could bring together both traditional medical care and holistic resources to support cancer patients. This charity is born out of that vision—to provide the guidance, education, and resources that helped me, and to ensure no cancer patient has to navigate this journey alone. By sharing my story and the lessons I’ve learned, I hope to empower others to take control of their health and healing, just as I did. This charity will provide support, resources, and hope for those who need it most, bridging the gap between medical treatment and holistic wellness in the fight against cancer.
