About This Cause
Our mission is to meet people where they are, uplift them, and support them with an approach that is free from bias and judgment and orientated towards establishing human connections with everyone we encounter. We provide community outreach services to this vulnerable population and support services aligned with addressing and alleviating the individualized needs of those we encounter. Street Samaritans is a Chicagoland-based 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization that focuses on direct impact through: - Human connection with the homeless through street team outreach - Educating the general public on causes and true nature of homelessness - Promoting awareness of independent outreach in our communities - Collecting essential items, such as food, toiletries, and clothing for street teams to hand deliver - Bringing volunteers together to connect and generate new ideas on alleviating homelessness - Organizing care package drives and social events to fundraise for the homeless cause - Collecting critical data on homeless’ demographics - Partner with local businesses to drive community involvement and collaboration - Program development to drive long lasting change
