Black & Brown Founders (BBF) provides community, education and access to Black and Latinx entrepreneurs, allowing them to build successful tech businesses with modest resources. Our activities are centered around four pillars: Community, Education, Access, and Data & Reporting.
About This Cause
Black & Brown Founders provides community, education, and access to Black and Latinx entrepreneurs, helping them build successful tech businesses with modest resources. We focus on profitability (generating revenue) over fundability (pitching investors) because the reality is that most of them never see a dollar of investment money. We have experienced a dramatic demographic shift in America alongside a growing wealth gap. Tech entrepreneurship is providing accelerated pathways to financial security, and we believe that equitable participation in the innovation economy is a moral and economic imperative that can level the playing field for marginalized groups. Black & Brown Founders provides educational events to empower Black and Latinx entrepreneurs by educating them on how to turn their most valuable skills and ideas into a profitable tech business, by helping them assess their talents, build their first prototype and validate their business idea. At Black and Brown Founders, entrepreneurs are guided on their journey from ideation to revenue generation and beyond. Aniyia Williams and Executive Director Deldelp Medina’s mission is to educate and explain the rules of the game and how to build a badass tech business against all odds. By enabling Black and Latinx entrepreneurs to feel in control of their lives, help their families, and build wealth and lasting legacies we also help our community.
