Mission Statement
We are a non-profit organization based out of Portland, started in 2016, by local community members of Indian origin with a mission to spread happiness through 'sangha seva' (sanskrit word for 'selfless service to community'). Helping people from all walks of life regardless of race, religion, income levels, cultural and political beliefs is a key driver for Chetana volunteers who have been actively undertaking several social welfare programs to help local communities, specifically in the Portland and Pacific Northwest region.

Helping people from all walks of life regardless of race, religion, income levels, cultural and political beliefs is a key driver for Chetana volunteers who have been actively undertaking several social welfare programs to help local communities, specifically in the Portland and Pacific Northwest region. To name a few, below are a list of initiatives currently being driven by Chetana Volunteers. Cooking and serving delicious meals at local shelters for homeless, Preparing sack lunches by Chetana youth and hand deliver them to local homeless shelters without kitchen, Packaging food at Food Banks, Conducting food drives, Conduct cloth drives, Promoting healthy initiatives, Teaching kids, Sports & Athletes Adopting roads, Covid-19 support, Planting trees and Extending support at retirement homes. The organization is now 1000 plus volunteers strong, actively growing to help further with support from local communities and other non-profit organizations. Chetana is glad to have active volunteers from local community join in to take part in welfare initiatives to spread happiness in our communities. Join Chetana, Spread Happiness !
