Mission Statement
POETIC provides intensive aftercare for girls (ages 12-18+) who have experienced child maltreatment, sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation in Dallas, TX. By putting a school, 24/7 access to therapy and paid internships all under one roof, POETIC equips girls to break the cycle of re-victimization and persist forward. #untileverygirlisequallyvalued
About This Cause
POETIC equips youth who have experienced child maltreatment, sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation to find their voices, reclaim their narratives and persist forward. By addressing not just the symptoms but the systems that perpetuate victimization, POETIC is igniting a movement to reject the notion that youth can be bought and sold. At POETIC, youth are not defined by their circumstances and experiences. Instead, they are empowered to become the authors of their lives. POETIC's first-of-its-kind program model consists of: the POETIC School for Girls, POETIC Trauma Therapy, POETIC Creative Arts, Clinical Case Management, and POETIC Design Co.
