Mission Statement
The Trunk Space’s purpose is: -An organization that assists both performing and visual artists to hone their craft. -To serve as a medium for community growth, facilitating Phoenix's creativity, while supporting emerging artists and local youth. -Help artists learn to be creative on a professional level. - Be an inclusive place for people meet, communicate, and engage with art in its more experimental form. -Provide a space for people of all age, race, gender, or economic status have a stage to present their art form and receive constructive criticism. -Foster creativity in Phoenix and surrounding areas through support of individual artists, projects, and peer organization. -Promote Phoenix as a cultural destination. -Help Phoenix based artist with expenses associated with their art and running an art business. -Bring artists and performers from out of state to Phoenix and surrounding areas. -Organize and fund festivals and other events designed to promote the arts. -Provide an environment for marginalized and at risk teens to find their creative voice and partner with members of the creative community to develop their skills and understanding of art. -Be a creative laboratory. -Be an entrepreneur incubator. -Be a humane institution where everyone gets to grow. -Be a home for creatives as well as marginalized individuals of all ages including teens. -Help disenfranchised individuals through art. -Provide intergenerational Mentoring. -An organization that gives individuals the confidence to be who they are.
