About This Cause
The Challenge: Most of the 520,000 elected offices nationwide are not significantly contested. Most people interested in pursuing these offices are not running because they consider themselves unprepared. The people who do run are often not prepared to or motivated to advance good governance. Our Mission: Empower thoughtful leaders everywhere to run for office successfully and govern effectively. Our Vision: A robust American politics rooted in civic engagement and responsive, evidence-based policymaking that enables individual and societal achievement. Our Work: We are making the knowledge and skills necessary to run modern political campaigns and an effective, active government accessible to everyone. We are developing online training and guidance on campaign techniques, policy, messaging, and governance, with a state & local focus.
