Mission Statement
To provide the students and teachers of PS185 in Harlem, NY with the best learning environment possible
About This Cause
PS185 is a Title 1 funded public school in Harlem, NY. This means that a majority of our students come from low income families. As the PTA, we are working hard to ensure all of our students are given even the most basic needs. We run coat and school uniform drives to provide free clothes to students in need, we try to keep our school's pantry stocked with school and personal hygiene supplies, and most importantly, we do what we can to give them happy positive experiences. The PTA also fully supports our school's amazing teachers and staff with classroom supplies, field trip funding, and the occasional surprise (ie. coffee or breakfast) in the teacher's lounge when we can. Thanks to NYC's most recent round of budget cuts, the uphill battle they've been fighting for so long has grown steeper, but somehow, they continue to do it all with so much love and care for our kids. Thank you so much for considering our little school full of kids who are bound to make a big difference if given the chance!
