Mission Statement
Refugee Care Collective mobilizes the city of Portland to serve diverse populations of refugees who have been resettled in the metro area, empowering our new neighbors to rebuild their lives.
About This Cause
Our focus is on filling the current gaps in care within this underserved community. Through developing programs and partnering with local resettlement agencies, we act as a unifying liaison for businesses, faith communities, schools, and voluntary agencies to meet these needs. From the hospitality of warmly welcoming newly arriving families at the airport, to the meeting of essential tangible needs through restart kits, to tutoring and mentorship programs, we are committed to walking alongside our new neighbors in their transition to a new life in Portland, bringing hope to some of the most vulnerable in our city. Since 2015, we have matched over 450 volunteers with families, distributed over 3,000 restart kits, and and have seen nearly 2,000 refugees impacted by our programs.
