About This Cause
Families are becoming less engaged in Judaism due to a lack of convenient, accessible experiences and seek a sense of belonging and connection. Additionally, many Jewish organizations do not have the ability to provide quality Jewish experiences to attract families and are struggling with attrition. Finding ways to meet these needs for both individuals/families and organizations are crucial to the vibrancy and relevancy of Jewish culture in the modern world and beyond. Now more than ever, Tkiya provides essential ways to help families find a sense of normalcy, routine, and belonging. Tkiya creates participatory music experiences that meet participants where they are - physically, psychologically, and spiritually - to find their unique connection to Jewish culture and community. Our programs are distinctively tailored to fit the needs of various communities and learning styles, and are accessible across a wide spectrum of Jewishness. Tkiya’s joyful, community centered programs are grounded in music education best practices and developed by recognized experts in the field of family engagement. We pride ourselves on our growing foundation of deep partnerships with over 60 organizations, including PJ Library, JCCs, and synagogues. We bring opportunities to connect as a family and as a community that make Judaism feel new, exciting, and welcoming to all. Our use of music, movement, stories, puppets, and virtual interaction has an immediate impact on every family that participates. Tkiya is able to create comfort and connection within specific, local communities as well as for families who are separated by distance.
