Through live performances on stage, hands on exhibits, cultural workshops, and vendor booths, the public is immersed in the music, dance, artistry, and philosophy of Japan. Our goal is to not only introduce and spread the ideas and cultures of Japan, but to also bridge and connect the Japanese communities with the American communities. Japan Fair 2018 will be held on July 7th and 8th, aligned with Tanabata; a holiday in Japan where the gratefulness of people coming together is celebrated. Saettle Necchu School (www.www.necchu-seattle.org) is a continuing education program. Improve yourself, your creativity, and your expressiveness Seattle Necchu help students to meet and make unique connections, take strides forward with your peers and to create a better future. Necchu Elementary School (熱中小学校) is a school for adults who look to rediscover the enjoyment of learning, broaden their horizon, learn from experts of the field, or just simply make new friends and connections. Utilizing closed school buildings and available facilities, Necchu Elementary School started in October 2015 in Takahata of Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, and has hence grown to be 12 schools with 800 students throughout all of Japan. Necchu in Japanese can mean enthusiastic or passionate. True to its name, the volunteer teachers are all very enthusiastic about teaching and are, of course, passionate about what they do. The background and fields of the teachers can range widely from CEOs of tech companies and university professors to designers and engineers. With the variety of topics covered, human resource development and connections that usually can't be made becomes possible. Seattle Necchu School is the first Necchu Elementary School branch outside of Japan, but is definitely not the last. As all the schools are connected, inside and outside of Japan, cultural exchanges and connections will be made on an international scale. The classes offered at the Seattle Necchu School will be taught by local expertise, as well as ones from Japan.
