Our Mission Hello Neighbor works to improve the lives of recently resettled refugee families by matching them with dedicated neighbors to guide and support them in their new lives. Our Vision The vision of Hello Neighbor is that all refugees and immigrants feel welcome and gain confidence in their new lives in Pittsburgh. The Mentoring Program The central part of Hello Neighbor is the mentoring program. Each refugee or immigrant family is matched with a Pittsburgher. This can be an individual, a couple, or a family with kids. Since 2017, Hello Neighbor has matched 72 refugee families from 12 different countries (or “mentees”) with Pittsburgh families from over 30 zip codes (or “mentors”) in a mentoring relationship. 100% of our resettled refugee families have kids under 18 in the home.
