Mission Statement
MenHealing provides healing resources for men, age 18 and older, who have experienced sexual harm during childhood and/or as adults. We also provide resources for loved ones and allies of men who are survivors of sexual harm. MenHealing is a living and ever-evolving entity; we have an on-going responsibility to nurture and nourish the health and well-being of those who are affiliated with MenHealing as well as the organizational whole. MenHealing seeks congruence of words and actions regarding our five core values: Intentionality, Integrity, Transparency, Self-Care, and Relationship. We believe in men and their loved ones healing through community and relationships, fostering a sense of belonging, embracing vulnerability, and recognizing the pain and trauma that men experience. By supporting men to heal, we hope to help heal the world. More information about MenHealing is available at our website: www.MenHealing.org
About This Cause
MenHealing is a 501c3 non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to providing healing resources for men and male-identified individuals age 18 and older who have experienced sexual harm during childhood or as adults. MenHealing insures the sustainability of the Weekend of Recovery program. Weekend of Recovery (WOR) retreats provide complementary support for any male-identified individual – 18 or older – who is a survivor of sexual harm as a child and/or as an adult. By engaging participants in creating an environment that supports safety needs for male-identified survivors, our program format seeks to acknowledge and honor the authentic diversities of attendees at each WOR (sexuality, gender, racial, ethnic, class, spirituality, etc.). Alumni of WOR retreats report the experience contributed to easing their suffering; to enabling higher functioning; to facilitating healthier relationships with friends, partners, children; to inspiring activism; and to diminishing the cycle of victimization. The program is maintained by an experienced team of highly trained trauma clinicians. Since 2001 thru 2024, the WOR Facilitator Team has conducted 102 WORs throughout the US and Canada.
