About This Cause
Since its inception in 2018, Southern Animal Volunteer Effort (SAVE) has continued its commitment to rescuing homeless animals. The long-term vision of SAVE is to reduce the number of animals placed in shelters and to treat animals as valuable companions and helpers rather than consumer goods. With this vision at its core, SAVE takes homeless animals into its care and gives them the love and attention they need prior to adoption. During the adoption process, SAVE matches animals with appropriate families. SAVE further raises awareness on animal treatment and educates households about spay/neuter and vaccinations. With the goal of making it easier for people to rescue pets rather than purchasing them, SAVE educates the public on the importance of adopting pets at local shelters or purchasing from reputable breeders rather than at pet stores, online retailers, or flea markets.
