Mission Statement

Our Mission is to support Southeastern Arizona's female Veteran community as they strive to reach their highest potential. Women Warriors vision is to address female Veterans' well-being through education, coordination of support, aid and relief to eradicate financial and housing insecurity.

About This Cause

Female Veterans are an underserved community that is growing every day. These women have selflessly volunteered their lives for ours, so that we can enjoy our freedoms. But in doing so, many have come back to us troubled. Many have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and suffer from feelings of institutional betrayal. Facing some, if not all, of these challenges, some female Veterans cope by isolating themselves and/or by using alcohol and/or drugs to deal with the trauma and/or pain. Some don’t make it and become another statistic. More and more, our female Veterans are reporting what they have endured during their time of service, but often the damage is already done. There is a great need for these women to get the help that they deserve. Female Veterans in our community are suffering from homelessness, self-esteem issues and a certain lack of belonging, and they have traditionally been underrepresented in past veteran’s support programs. Women Warriors has developed a program conducive to growth and learning aimed at helping homeless and at-risk women veterans’ transition into sustainable employment and permanent housing by offering support, counseling, wellness, training and other services at no cost to the veteran. Women Warriors serves the at-risk female Veteran community in Southern Arizona. These women come in off the streets, from shelters, and/or from the treatment program center at Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. Since 2016 Women Warriors has assisted over 385 female Veteran in both Pima and Cochise county with essentials and 52 female Veteran with emergency financial assistance. In 2021 we plan on assisting double that amount. so far since 2021 we have assisted 17 female Veterans with clothing, food, basic hygiene and per supplies, 8 female Veterans with emergency financial assistance. Our Expected Outcomes 1.Help eradicate homelessness. 2. Provide female veterans with the services and resources needed to maintain a stable and healthy life to achieve their highest potential. 3.Provide case management with action plans, financial education, resume building, and interviewing skills. 4.Provide a safe place for individual and/or group therapy. 5.Serve as a physical location to bring together the veteran female community in a supportive and safe environment, facilitating friendships and peer support. Women Warriors Program goal is to address, educate, coordinate, and provide aid and relief to eradicate homelessness and provide support services to female Veterans in need at a local level. Women Warriors has been supplying our female Veterans with emergency assistance, food, clothing, and basic hygiene essentials since 2016. Our new facility will enable us to better meet the needs of our women veterans by providing the right resources needed at the right time. Objective 1: Determine the underlying issue of our female Veteran and assign her to a case manager/therapist who will work with her on developing the skills she needs to live independently. Objective 2: Provide a safe, supportive environment for group/individual therapy. Objective 3: Assist with employment services that include resume building, job interviewing skills, clothing and a haircut. Objective 4: Provide financial budgeting if needed. To better serve this diverse community of women warriors, the program must continue to grow and evolve. Wendy’s Collection Boutique has been created to help provide a stable funding source to support the Women Warriors Program, helping to sustain, maintain, and grow the operation of the Women Warriors Program while also providing no cost clothing and goods as well as job training and skills development to the program participants enabling them to become self-supporting.
