Mission Statement
The Grace Center Texas compassionately serves the forgotten by providing free dental and vision care to the neglected, overlooked, and marginalized
About This Cause
The Grace Center Texas, a dental and vision public charity clinic, opened five years ago and has had a prominent presence and impact in Garland, a northeastern suburb of the City of Dallas, Texas. Our mission is to help the forgotten, underprivileged, and often overlooked individuals with their dental and vision needs. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity that is 100% financially supported by donors and grants, and all of our dental and vision services are done free of charge to our patients. We believe having a healthy mouth and teeth is important and essential for the overall health and well-being of our fellow human beings. A toothache or an infected tooth has been described as one of the worst pains to experience, and yet so many low-income and poor people are not able to get the treatment they need. Vision is another service we provide at The Grace Center Texas. Like broken teeth, if a person cannot see, read, or drive, their ability to work is greatly hindered. Our patients are adults who are living in poverty, do not have any form of private or state-funded dental and or vision insurance, and live in the City of Garland or surrounding communities within Dallas County. When we opened our nonprofit dental clinic in November 2019, we began by assisting local nonprofit organizations within Dallas County that serve individuals who are either homeless, recovering from drug and or substance addiction, seeking protection and help from abusive and violent domestic situations, are in transitional living after being incarcerated, and also students who are working on getting their GED or completing their requirements to earn their high school diploma. They are forgotten and neglected with little resources and hope to get out of their current situations and grip of poverty.
