Mission Statement

To create systemic solutions that address the cat overpopulation crisis in Brooklyn and beyond.

About This Cause

Trap Neuter Return Providing volunteers with the training, support, and resources needed to sterilize the cats on their block and throughout the city in order to reduce the cat overpopulation crisis and give cats better, healthier lives. In a Trap-Neuter-Return program, community cats are humanely trapped (with box traps), brought to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, eartipped (the universal sign that a community cat has been neutered and vaccinated), and then returned to their outdoor home. We do TNR ourselves in conjunction with the ASPCA, but also focus on providing training and support to help other volunteers get started. This includes teaching TNR classes, developing educational videos, forming an online support group, and funding/hosting a local trap bank for new volunteers to borrow equipment. Foster & Adoption Providing foster care and adoption services, including spay neuter, vaccination, and emergency medical care. Veterinary Clinic Building an accessible and affordable clinic to serve pet owners in the community and rescuers across the city. This clinic will provide thousands of high-quality spay neuter surgeries and veterinary wellness services every year, addressing the root of the cat overpopulation crisis. Education Reaching, engaging, educating, and inspiring animal lovers across the country and around the globe with powerful stories around lifesaving TNR, spay neuter, fostering work, and quality, affordable veterinary care - allowing us to lead local, state, and national advocacy efforts to address the root causes of the cat overpopulation crisis.
