About This Cause
Sankofa Impact confronts our shared history of racism and resistance by bringing everyday people together for place-based learning experiences. Sankofa is an Adinkra symbol used by the Akan people of Ghana meaning, “go back and get it,” which teaches us that we must return to our roots in order to know where we are going. Our programming brings together 1000’s of people from various identities to learn about racism and resistance in accessible formats that center places and people. The impact of our immersive experiences transforms participants and inspires everyday activism at home, in the workplace, and all social spaces. Everyday people. Everyday activists.
