Mission Statement
ETAC 's vision is to UNITE, SERVE & EMPOWER the Turkish-American Community. Our mission is to preserve the rich culture, values, heritage and the world renown cuisine of Turkiye for future generations and share them with the community at large at the Turkish American Community Center. Key initiatives to accomplish our mission AND vision are to: * organize celebrations of holidays, milestones, traditions, festivals, etc., for a variety of ages, * provide services such as referrals, resources, consular services in collaboration with the Turkish Consulate in Los Angeles, * sponsor children's programs to establish and preserve Turkish cultural identity, teaching the Turkish culture and language, * support youth educational programs, competitions, meetups, * build a library of Turkish books for all ages, * create a Turkish Gastronomy Center to offer culinary experiences, cooking classes for all ages, culinary training workshop, exhibition displays, culinary- gourmet tours to Turkey.
About This Cause
ETAC – USA (EMPOWERING THE TURKISH-AMERICAN COMMUNITY) was founded to fill the need of a uniting non-profit organization which would accommodate and support the Turkish-American community through different means such as orientation and guidance to both the existing members and the newcomers, empowerment of women and children with the necessary tools and skills, etc. Our goals include but are not limited to providing support services and guidance to battered women and children and to seniors with lack of means and/or necessary language skills; providing training and guidance to women and children in mentoring other community members; encouraging and enabling our members to be involved in local and national campaigns. By assisting them to recognize their own potential, we help develop more self-sufficient and self-confident individuals, who will be involved in community volunteerism & leadership and become more productive members of the society.
