Mission Statement
Foster Advocates is not just our name; it’s our mission. We foster advocacy, policy change, and organizing by partnering with current/former foster youth and impacted communities.
About This Cause
Foster Advocates was founded in 2018 to address the lack of policy and advocacy organizations working to improve the foster care/child welfare system in Minnesota. Broadly, we organize individuals with connections to child welfare systems to build power and the capacity of our foster care community; advocate with foster youth and stakeholders at the county and state level to create the changes our community’s need; and conduct policy and research on the identified issues our community prioritizes.
