Mission Statement

The non-profit IMPACT (Immigration Psychology Access Team) offers immigrants and refugees psychological documentation of their trauma and hardship as part of their legal pursuit to live where they and their families feel safe and can thrive. IMPACT provides high quality psychological evaluations to low income immigrants and refugees who have the right to this service as part of their legal application to remain in the United States.

About This Cause

For immigrant families the fear and uncertainty of staying in the United States compounds daily. Immigrants and refugees have the right to a psychological evaluation as part of their legal application to stay. Psychological evaluations form the backbone of successful cases, roughly doubling the chance of a successful outcome and yet very few immigrants can afford them. IMPACT provides psychological evaluations for low income political asylum applicants, human trafficking victims, traumatized unaccompanied minors, victims of domestic violence and other crimes. We assess extreme hardship to US citizens if they were to be separated from their immigrant spouse. IMPACT evaluations document the human story by providing trauma-informed culturally relevant mental health evaluations in over 20 languages. IMPACT seeks to keep families together and to ensure that immigrants who have suffered trauma can remain where they are safe. In addition to providing subsidized evaluations, IMPACT offers a comprehensive training program to train more mental health professionals, thus ensuring that more immigrants have access to full due process.
