Mission Statement
Black Girl Ventures Foundation (BGV) creates access to capital, community and capacity for Under Resourced Entrepreneurs.
About This Cause
Our mission is to provide Under-Resourced Entrepreneurs with access to community, capital, and capacity building in order to meet business milestones that lead to economic advancement through entrepreneurship. Founded in 2016 by Serial Entrepreneur and Computer Scientist Omi Bell, BGV addresses the unique challenges of Under Resourced Entrepreneurs that face challenges in accessing social and financial capital to grow their businesses. The BGV Style competition is the largest pitch competition globally for Under Resourced Entrepreneurs. It uniquely combines the premise of Shark Tank and Kickstarter by activating community participation in donating to support under resourced businesses directly. We've supported over 18,000 families, funded more than 550 under resourced businesses and our programs have reached over 64 countries.
