Our mission is to provide an affordable, safe, structured and progressive snowboarding experience through participation with our club and in conjunction with a core set of coaches and coordinators. Our focus is on positivity and respect for every level of rider and every type of person. We believe that if each person is accepted and supported, everyone will be capable of reaching their highest potential.

About This Cause

For many, snowboarding is a unique experience somewhere between thrilling and awesome, refreshing and awe-inspiring, a way to bond with nature and discover oneself. For youth, it is a way to grow. Westside Riders Association (WRA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving high schools in the Beaverton School District (BSD) in Oregon. Born out of the vision that every high school student should have the opportunity to experience snowboarding, WRA provides coaching tailored to all levels, embracing ideals of competition in safe and good fun to enable every participant to thrive and succeed. WRA is especially appealing to students who do not typically participate in high school sports. It provides a team atmosphere that boosts self-confidence. Riders train and compete with the goal to qualify for the Oregon Interscholastic Snowboard Association State Championships in March. WRA improves affordability by running as an umbrella organization across all BSD High Schools to share costs for coaching, transportation and other fees. Our budget for the season is $30,000. Yet, we receive no funding from the schools. We need support from friends, family, businesses, and anyone who wants to be a part of this amazing organization! By donating, you not only help lower the costs for kids. You also support their success, a love and respect for nature and a healthy athletic lifestyle that will be sustained for life.
