About This Cause
Every child deserves a high-quality education. The Oakland REACH is a parent-run, parent led organization. Our parents know what it’s like to be overlooked, mistreated and miseducated by the school system. We are committed to changing that for future generations. We empower families from our most underserved communities to demand high-quality schools for their children. We wake parents up. We have had over 5,000 one-on-one conversations with parents about how schools are failing our children. Nearly 500 parents have gone through our Oakland Family Advocacy Fellowship to learn how to become changemakers. We support families. We have guided over 125 families through the school enrollment process. In 2020, we responded to the academic and social/emotional needs of our families by launching our Hub. We ARE a family. We listen and respond. We have each others’ backs. The Oakland REACH show ups, speaks up and shakes up. We are changing lives.
