Mission Statement
The mission of the Fossil Ridge High School Band Boosters is to support our students to have a quality music education for all involved. Research has shown that involvement in music activities has long lasting positive impacts on a student’s education and intellectual growth. Taking part in concert band, marching band, jazz band, small ensembles, and solo experiences are excellent opportunities that provides students with the life enriching experience of making music. Furthermore, through the band program, students will gain a sense of belonging, teamwork, time management, dedication, self-discipline, leadership, cooperation, and responsibility. As a Band Boosters we support the Mission Statement of the students and staff and want them to achieve greatness.
About This Cause
The FRHS Band Boosters raises money for the FHRS Band Program. Items include: *the purchase of musical instruments and payment for repairs *marching uniforms and concert attire *sheet music and royalties *transportation to performances and competitions *food for performances and competitions *staffing and instruction costs *financial assistance to students We cooperate fully with the band directors, school administration, and the Poudre School District Board of Education so that the band program at Fossil Ridge High School can be maintained at the highest standards of excellence. FRHS Band Boosters enthusiastically unites parental involvement with community support through fundraising and event organization, enabling the FRHS High School Band programs to flourish and facilitate exceptional student growth. The FRHS Band Boosters is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational tax-exempt organization approved by the Internal Revenue Service. All donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated! The majority of the cost to fund the FRHS Band Program is covered through fundraising to keep student fees as low as possible. The required funding per student in the FRHS Band Program is roughly $1,500 per year and only about one-third of that is covered by student fees. Our fundraising efforts provide funding for the Fossil Ridge High School Marching Band and Color Guard, the Winter Guard, the Concert Bands (including Wind Symphony, Select Symphonic Band and Symphonic Band), Jazz Ensembles, and Percussion Ensembles. There are many major fundraisers sponsored by the Band Boosters organization throughout the school year. The funds raised from these activities are essential to the operation of the total FRHS band program. They pay for staff and instructors, new instruments and equipment, maintenance and repairs, music and licenses, transportation and food at concerts and competitions, and scholarships to ensure that any student can participate in band regardless of their financial situation. Parent/adult volunteers to run and manage these these fundraising activities and events are an important element to their success! Fundraising is vital to maintain the level of competition and success that the Fossil Ridge High School Band students deserve.
