To serve the low income, underrepresented, and underserved communities with career pathway preparation and job readiness technical assistance. NSTEP's motto is "Preparing You Today for Tomorrow's Careers" as we provide support and assistance to career pathways for in-demand jobs.
About This Cause
New-Service Training Employment Program (N-STEP), Incorporated is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization workforce development program designed to prepare participants for sustainable employment, by promoting community engagement, economic impact, deterrence from criminal activities, and creation of a healthy self-esteem. The N-STEP program offers job readiness, life skills training, and career counseling to assist and support young adults and adults in gaining employment through our Teach-Tutor-Train methodology. The program exposes participants to job opportunities and information to aid in their career decision-making process. The N-STEP team collaborates with local organizations in surrounding areas to introduce participants to employment opportunities available through technical and vocational training, military service careers, and apprenticeship opportunities. N-STEP is a national workforce development initiative designed to assist and support youth and adults in gaining sustainable employment. Each participant completes a job, math, and reading assessment, and develops a one-year strategic goal plan. At the educational level, the N-STEP program provides teaching and tutoring to each participant including standardized testing, college preparation coursework, Scholastic Aptitude Test/ American College Test (SAT/ACT) Coaching/Testing, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Coaching/Training, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Testing for exam preparation. At the vocational and technical level, the N-STEP program provides technical and vocational training and instruction programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM). Innovative technology careers are covered such as Drone Technology Information/Training/Certification, Digital Marketing Information/Training/Certification, Cybersecurity/Information Technology Career Information/Training/Certification, Apple Products Information for Retail Sales, AT&T Products Information for Retail Sales, Google Web Services, Microsoft Products, Amazon Web Services, and Entrepreneurship. Training programs may be tailored to fit the need of the participant. The N-STEP program encourages military career service as an employment option for those interested and supports tutoring to enhance the entrance exam.
