Mission Statement
The Housing Action Coalition (HAC) is a member-supported nonprofit that advocates for building more homes at all levels of affordability to help alleviate the Bay Area and California’s housing shortage, displacement, and affordability crisis.
About This Cause
HAC aims to engage, educate, and activate pro-housing neighbors to help address our region's housing challenges. HAC grew out of SPUR over 20 years ago, and has since grown from a small nonprofit focused entirely entirely in San Francisco to a respected state-wide organization with membership spanning 20+ industries. These industries include affordable and market rate home builders, architects and designers, engineers and attorneys, labor unions and public education institutions, nonprofits and urban livability organizations, neighborhood associations, startup and grownup tech companies, businesses of all sizes, and individuals who want to play a part in addressing our region and state’s housing headaches.
