Mission Statement
LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation is a non-profit entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 with the mission to advance the rule of law globally, working with government, civil society, the legal profession, academic, private sector entities, and other partners to assess, create, fund, develop, and implement projects to achieve transparency of the law, access to legal remedy, equal treatment under the law, support for independent judiciaries and any ancillary activities supporting advancement of the rule of law.
About This Cause
According to the United Nations, there are more than 5 billion people living outside the umbrella protections of the rule of law. LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation works on projects around the world which serve to bring these people the justice they need through one or more of the four key elements of the rule of law: transparency of the law, access to legal remedy, equal treatment under the law, and independent judiciaries. We know when there is a strong and stable rule of law, there is also the opportunity to create and maintain peaceful, just and strong societies.
