Mission Statement
To create access and opportunity for all high school students at Lincoln High School participating in track/field and/or cross country.
About This Cause
RBRC focuses on providing opportunities for those students in need who don’t have the financial resources to adequately participate in the sport of track and field and cross country at Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon. These programs consist of entry fees and running equipment such as athletic wear and shoes or uniforms. It also aims to create a safe environment for athletes by allowing those athletes to participate and practice on up-to-date equipment such as high jump or pole vault mats. Free and reduced lunch athlete had all equipment, shoes, uniform, javelin, paid for by RBRC. Athletes on our team who qualified for the state track met were able to stay in hotels and had dinner paid for due to funding from the RBRC. Normally, these athletes would have had to drive back and forth from Portland because they don’t qualify for hotels due to their proximity. This puts an unnecessary burden on athletes’ families to provide a hotel in order to have a fair experience compared with other athletes from around the state who are staying near the stadium and don’t have to account for 90+ minutes of driving before and after their events.
