About This Cause
Immanuel Children's Foundation is a non-profit charity organization with the purpose of funding other organizations serving the needs of the world's greatest resource- our children. We have started an Orphanage (Children's home) in Guatemala, Immanuel Hogar para Niños (Immanuel Home for Children). The high poverty rate (approximately 59.3% according to the World Bank) combined with the Guatemalan government’s outlawing of foreign adoptions has resulted in overcrowded orphanages where abuse is not uncommon. UNICEF and the UN Commission against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG) recently reported that nearly 60 percent of the 50,000 victims of sex trafficking in Guatemala are children, some sold by their own parents. We hope to change the lives of these little ones whom Jesus welcomes and loves with open arms.
