Mission Statement

CyberBORN's mission is to improve the education standards for thousands of children worldwide by raising awareness throughout communities, fundraising to provide means of technology to impoverished children (currently donating to Indian girls), and opening up digital mentorship classrooms worldwide.

About This Cause

CyberBORN (cyberbornportland.org) is a student-led nonprofit organization that focuses on improving the living standards of thousands of impoverished children who have been trafficked, deserted, HIV /AIDS positive, or unable to provide themselves with basic necessities such as education, food, and shelter both in the U.S. and internationally. Started by Srilaasya (Laasya) Yenduri and her friends in September 2018, the organization has conducted several information stalls, fundraisers, and donations that are being used to build classroom equipment, donate tablets and computers to establish digital classrooms, sponsor children, and support girls with their feminine needs. The Sponsorship Program through CyberBORN (in association with World's Children) is where college students and children from as young as 6 years to 18 years old can be given a proper education, food, shelter, and medical attention (if needed) with just $35 a month. If working at Nike, Intel, or Microsoft, this amount is halved so each child can be given a month's worth of livelihood for $17.50. For more details about how to change a child's life, please visit: https://cyberbornportland.org/make-your-mark/. The digital classrooms is a project that CyberBORN hopes to implement in all 32 orphanages and consists of a smart TV which can communicate from the United States to India, contains 5-10 computers in each computer lab, and a few teachers who can help teach the students about how to use the technology. Our world is now purely focused on the STEM fields and without the proper knowledge on electronic devices, the talent that tens of thousands of children have is being wasted. Once the digital classrooms start being put into place, mentoring sessions in english, math, and science will be conducted from Portland to Indian orphanages. Not only will this increase the capability of our future generations but it will also provide a platform for communication across the world where students can explore their strengths and differences—all the while enriching one another. Overall, CyberBORN strives to remove the overbearing cultural differences between countries, clear the stigma around female hygiene, and further promote educational resources such as exam kits, textbooks, and college scholarships. CyberBORN is partnered with their parent organization World's Children (worldschildren.org) and Operation Period (operationperiod.org) who support children in India, Guatemala, and Ethiopia in four aspects: education, shelter, food, and female hygiene products.
