Mission Statement

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is committed to being a catalyst in igniting our community's passion for nature and science.

About This Cause

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is the Rocky Mountain region’s leading resource for informal science education. A variety of exhibitions, programs, and activities help Museum visitors experience the natural wonders of Colorado, Earth, and the universe. Founded in 1900, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science traces its origins back more than a hundred years to one man's efforts and a little log cabin tucked away in the mountains. Since 1900, much has changed, however, our purpose remains the same. The Denver Museum of Nature & Science seeks to provide access to science education for individuals of all ages by: engaging our youngest visitors in the Discovery Zone, allowing free access to all school and organized youth groups, providing unique discovery opportunities through our field trips, summer camps, Teen Science scholars program and more. In addition to our youth and family programs, DMNS also provides opportunities for adult engagement through Science Lounge, classes, lecture series, and field trips.
