Mission Statement
Child Care Associates’ mission is to assist family successes through excellence in early education and development services. Founded in 1968, Child Care Associates (CCA) began by launching child development centers in high poverty neighborhoods in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1970, CCA secured the federal Head Start grant for Tarrant County to expand its quality early education programs for at-risk preschoolers, and later in 1998 became an Early Head Start grantee as well. Today, CCA is the largest child development nonprofit in North Texas, providing quality early education with child and family services to 2,300+ infants, toddlers, and preschoolers daily through its 23 community-based child development centers and 75 Pre-Kindergarten partnership classrooms with 7 school districts and the Uplift Charter School network. CCA also manages Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County’s funding to help more than 6,000 low-income, working families each year to cover the cost of quality child care.
About This Cause
Child Care Associates (CCA) serves and meets the needs of economically disadvantaged young children and their families through work in five key areas: 1) Quality early childhood education: CCA's Head Start and Early Head Start programs focus on serving the most vulnerable children (ages 0-5) and families in North Texas. In addition to preparing children for success in kindergarten, our services offer families support in areas such as mental health, social and emotional development, and nutrition. 2) Child care payment assistance: In partnership with local Workforce Development Boards, CCA helps low-income families cover the cost of child care or after-school care so parents can work, go to school, or attend a training program. 3) Quality advancement: Through local management of the Texas Rising Star and Texas School Ready programs, CCA helps increase the quality of child care and early learning providers across the community. 4) Policy transformation: CCA takes the lead in identifying and developing system and policy solutions that improve the quality of early education for young children across Texas and beyond. 5) Innovation: As an organization of scale, CCA offers opportunities to incubate innovation and policy concepts that can transform the early childhood landscape. CCA's vision is “starting early to make a lifetime of difference.” Overall, CCA has provided "whole child, whole family" services to more than 568,000 children and their families since 1968 -- helping both the child and the family reach for and achieve bright futures.
