Mission Statement
The mission of Coal Creek Meals on Wheels is to support independence and quality of life for Lafayette, Louisville, Erie & Superior residents by providing nutritious meals and social contact.
About This Cause
Coal Creek Meals on Wheels (CCMOW) was established in 1972, to provide made-from-scratch meals to Lafayette residents in need of food security. Since then, CCMOW’s programming has expanded to annually serve over 40,000 meals to clients living in Louisville, Erie and Superior. CCMOW’s goals remain the same today as they were in 1972, to provide a solution to a critical need among local residents by providing hot, daily, nutritious meals and related support services, helping them to live with dignity in their own homes. The community impacts that CCMOW strives for are as follows: to reduce hunger, to help seniors remain in their homes, to reduce at-risk senior population, and to reduce the usage of and strain on our community’s emergency resources.
