About This Cause

PLAY Boulder Foundation began its efforts as the non-profit partner of the Boulder Parks and Recreation Department in 1976. OUR FOCUS PEOPLE: Access We believe everyone should be able to enjoy Boulder’s great spaces, places and activities! Our work ensures underserved members of our community can enjoy the best Boulder has to offer. We are proud supporters of Boulder’s EXPAND and YSI programs serving the disabled and underserved youth across our city. * EXPAND: Camp Amico, Journeys, Friday Night Fun * YSI: Getting Fit Program PLACE: Environmental Sustainability We support Boulder’s commitment to environmental sustainability and work hard to ensure our public spaces reflect those values. From ensuring the long term sustainability of our city's urban canopy, to supporting the planting of pollinator friendly flora, PLAY is working to protect the places we love most about Boulder. Our current initiative aims to protect the urban forest from the impacts of Emerald Ash Borer. *The Tree Trust: Protecting Our Urban Forest PLAY: Community Placemaking We are fortunate to have great parks, playgrounds and pools in Boulder. Going from great to AWESOME is possible with Community Placemaking as one of our focus initiatives. We work to harness our local community's assets, inspiration and potential - with the intention of creating and enhancing public spaces that promote people's health, happiness and well being. Our favorite #PLACES2PLAY this summer: * Scott Carpenter Pool, Skatepark and Ballfields * Boulder Reservoir
