Mission Statement
Senior Support Services works with food- and housing-insecure people age 60+. We aim to make each day better and safer for our members by providing case management, meals, mail and storage options, clothing and food banks, and the the opportunity to socialize with peers.
About This Cause
Senior Support Services (SSS) was established in 1976 when six churches in downtown Denver came together to assist low-income and homeless seniors who were being displaced by downtown redevelopment. As the need grew, our services expanded. Today, SSS is a day shelter serving over 1,500 individuals each year. All of our services are free of charge for members, and the only requirement of membership is to be age 60+. In addition to providing meals, food, clothing, and hygiene items, computer access, mail and storage options, we provide individualized, client-led case management services, that help connect members to housing, healthcare, government benefits, or other resources.
