Mission Statement
The Friends of the Lyons Regional Library is a nonprofit organization of volunteers supporting the library by fostering public awareness, sharing enthusiasm for learning, enhancing the library’s service to the community.
About This Cause
The Friends is a 501c3 nonprofit that “Friend-raises” and fundraises to support materials and services outside the normal operating budget. Examples of programs the Friends support include Summer Learning Program, Author Talks, and One Book Lyons. Additionally the Friends fund library requests for materials (e.g. books, audiobooks, subscriptions, storytime materials). The Friends also volunteer at library events as requested by staff. In addition to membership dues, the Friends raise funds by hosting events like Trivia Night and book sales as well as participating in non-profit programs like Amazon Smile, King Soopers Community Rewards, and Benevity.
