About This Cause
The Family Center/La Familia (TFC/LF) is an affordable, high-quality family and early childhood center with a primary goal to strengthen and stabilize lower-income working families with children by offering support services. TFC/LF builds great kids and strong families, and strives to provide low-income families with the resources they need to shape and expand their opportunities. Since its establishment by a grassroots citizens’ initiative 28 years ago, TFC/LF has operated as a unique non-profit, multi-cultural, multi-lingual organization in Larimer County and has strengthened and stabilized at-risk families; trained low-income families for self-sufficiency; enhanced the quality of life through prenatal and early childhood support; enabled parents to work and/or attend school. This is accomplished using a sliding scale scholarship program that includes infant and child care, early childhood education, parenting classes, a home visitation program, health equity programming, and policy and advocacy. These vital services provided by TFC/LF are not available as comprehensively elsewhere in Larimer County.
