About This Cause

OVERVIEW OF INTENTIONAL PURSUIT OF ME We are passionate about removing the veil of marketing tactics that contribute to the youths being afraid to be their authentic selves. Our plan is to create a DC where YOU control your narrative. Our programs are the 1st of its kind that marries mental wellness, digital literacy, film production & the power of journaling for maximum value impact. We haven’t seen any competing contributors reaching these communities in comparison. However, we differ from Art incubation initiatives because Art is used as a tool in our initiatives to directly affect the silent crisis of youth depression and suicide. OUR ORGANIZATION NEEDS Our grassroot initiative turned nonprofit has been blessed by the support of individual funding, however funding continues to be a constant challenge. Being a newly formed nonprofit, we’re unable to compete or even apply for certain grants funding’s. We’re seeking In-Kind donations from Accounting Services, Marketing Strategists, local realtors and developers. We need to expand our reach to the DC area at large to generate donations toward programs and capacity building. OUR VISION The opportunity to empower, engage, uplift and provide mental health resources to the youth. Removing the stigma of depression and suicide and their impacts on at-risk youth. To create a coalition of community leaders, parents, caregivers, & educators of tomorrow. ABOUT OUR FOUNDER TASHA MCCLELLAND In 2015, 4 years after of a toxic and abusive marriage, Tasha realized that she needed to find her inner strength to get both she and her two small children out. After months of planning, after her husband left for work, they made their escape and begin to build a new life in New Jersey. As Tasha worked on a journey of rebuilding her confidence, she discovered her purpose and founded Intentional Pursuit of Me Foundation, a non- profit focused on combatting depression empowering self-discovery. Tasha has over a decade of brand building success. Her company Tasha McManagement Group offers a unique point of view that incorporates entertainment & fashion industry roots, extensive knowledge of the media landscape, and passion for finely curated lifestyle and hospitality brands. She has secured cover and feature stories in domestic and international publications, retail distribution, endorsements, and activations for her clients. ORGANIZATION SUCCESS We continue to be blown away by the bonds built amongst program participants. We hold a weekly "Uplift" call where participants can listen in. One of our participants had major struggles coping with losing her Dad to gun violence & ran away from home. Her mom contacted us for assistance. We reached out to all participants with info provided by the family. Unbeknownst to us at IPM, the participants had formed their own group message to stay connected and encourage one another. Within 4 hours they had encouraged their program sister to reach out to her family and return home. This story warms our heart because it reminded us to never forget how essential building a community of peers is to the continuous success of those we serve.
