Mission Statement
We help children in need in three countries; USA, Panama and Colombia.
About This Cause
Katie Jane Brier was born on April 25, 2012, in Panama City, Panama. She has lived and gone to school in Panama, Colombia, and the U.S. In the summer she goes to her house in Maine where she likes to spend time on the lake, go to summer camp, and collect and paint rocks in her spare time. Katie is also an athlete and enjoys playing softball and running track. Through her travels she has seen kids that are not as fortunate as she is and she has always shown empathy for them even at her young age. We (her parents) decided to start Katie Jane Rocks in 2018 order to help less fortunate children in Panama, Colombia, and the USA. In 2019 Katie Jane Rocks, Inc., was incorporated in the State of Florida as a non-profit organization and is a 501(c)(3)organization, making all donations tax deductible. 100% of the proceeds earned from the sale of Katie Jane Rocks hand painted rocks are used to support four specific causes: 1. Help at-risk orphans in Medellin, Colombia, through donations to The Emiliani Project, an organization that provides direct care for orphaned children in Medellin, Colombia. 2. Providing direct assistance to the Juan E. Jimenez public elementary school in the mountain district of Los Altos De Cerro Azul, Panama, by donating meals and school supplies every month directly to the school administrators. 3. Providing scholarship funds to Camp Tracy in Oakland, Maine, to allow children from low income families to attend a week of lakeside summer camp at reduced or no cost. Camp Tracy has been providing summer day camp to area children for over 50 years. 4. Provide $1,000.00 annual scholarship to a female student-athlete softball player who was nominated between the ages of 7-13 and awarded the annual Queen Of The Diamond award, and who has graduated high-school and who is enrolling in a trade school, community college, college, university or joining the U.S. military. The proceeds from every donation are shared equally among these four groups unless you specify a specific use of proceeds when making the donation. This allows you to make one donation and know that your purchase is helping less fortunate children in three different countries. The Katie Jane Rocks organization is pleased to have been designated as a Silver level transparent non-profit organization for 2022 by Guide Star.
