Jimmy Banks Academy, Inc. (J.B.A.) mission is to equip underserved youth with essential life skills through soccer, education, and mentorship.
About This Cause
Jimmy Banks Academy, Inc. (J.B.A.) was founded in 2019 to honor the legacy of Jimmy Banks, a former USMNT soccer player, Milwaukee Wave Soccer Icon, community youth mentor, and Milwaukee native. The Academy is a transformative platform for youth ages 5-17, equipping them with essential life skills, promoting personal growth, teamwork, respect, and fostering academic success. Our programs are designed to address critical youth needs, including literacy development, goal-setting, and workforce readiness. We particularly focus on equity and inclusion for BIPOC youth and other underserved populations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Academy operates under three core pillars: the Soccer Academy, the Education Academy, and the Mentorship Academy. These pillars work in tandem to provide development opportunities that prepare youth for success both on and off the field. J.B.A. collaborates with Milwaukee Public Schools, The Salvation Army, other local organizations, and businesses to offer impactful programming that integrates sports, education, and community engagement. Our initiatives: summer camps, literacy programs, and career mentorship planning, are supported by experienced and licensed coaches, educators, and mentors. Jimmy Banks Academy aims to create lasting change by equipping and empowering today's youth to become the next generation of leaders in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and beyond.
