Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide support for the Highland Park Cross Country and Nordic Ski teams through fundraising and volunteerism. We support the goals of coaches and their efforts to get as many kids on skis as possible. The money we raise buys boots and skis for the rental program, uniforms, warm-up jackets, wax, and buses. We are dedicated to helping them maintain a no-cut policy that enables youth at all levels to experience the joys of competitive sports, even as the teams experience explosive growth.
About This Cause
The purpose of the Club is: 1. To provide supplemental financial support for the Highland Park High School Cross Country Team and the Highland Park High School Nordic Ski Team, 2. To support the involvement of students, parents, alumni, and community members in Highland Park High School Nordic Ski and Cross-Country activities, 3. To support the goals of the Cross Country and Nordic Ski coaches; and 4. To recognize accomplishments of the team, the players, and the coaches. The HPCCXC Booster Club financial supports include: • Additional coach’s salaries and honoraria for volunteer coaches • Team transportation • A budget for team apparel and equipment (skis, boots, weight room equipment) as needed to meet the needs of an expanding team • Capital budget needs as voted on by Executive Board and/or membership HPCCXC Booster Club organized as the teams faced increasing interest and participation. If the team is to keep its no-cut policy, parent boosters need to be sure the resources are available to maintain a safe and equitable environment.
